According to several media outlets, the NFL is investigating the Packers for breaking "Bounty Hunting" rules. I was kind of excited about this at first, as its a pretty badass thing to get in trouble for. The Green Bay Bounty-Hunters.. has a nice ring to it, don't you think? I was about to throw down a couple hundred bills on a Boba Fett outfit (dude already sports the Green Bay colors!). Unfortunately, all that happened was our secondary gave a couple hundred bucks to the D-Line for shutting opposing players out of games. This was first reported on Profootballtalk, but regardless of what Mike Florio wants you to think, this isn't really that big of a deal. Even Jon Kitna has our back on this one (which automatically gets him a free pass from my weekly "Hating Your Enemy" list I'll have up tomorrow). Maybe the fact that Larry Johnson and Adrian Peterson's seasons are both ruined because of our defense has something to do with this.In remembrance, I dedicate this post to Charles Martin (Rest In Piece, pal), who put a bounty on Jim McMahon's head before a game in 1986. During warm-ups, Martin displayed a towel that he wore during the game, which had the numbers of Bears players to make up a "hit list." After a McMahon interception, Martin picked him up and body slammed him to the ground. This led to an immediate ejection and two game suspension. Jim McMahon missed the rest of the season with a shoulder injury. Now thats an asskicker we can all be proud of. Here's to you, Chuck!
